Cliff Diving Paradise in Boracay - Ariel's Point

Boracay is widely known for its pristine beaches, fine white sand and the never ending nightlife. Well that's true, yet one can only dance so much and eventually you'd be looking for something new to kill your well-anticipated vacation with. Fortunately, Boracay offers an activity that will lure the hell out of all adventure seekers and adrenaline junkies out there, Cliff diving.

There are a number of cliff diving spots here in Boracay, but the most famous and most heart-pumping is at the well-known Ariel's Point. With boards ranging from 3 meters to as high as 15 meters (almost 50ft!). You can choose your own adventure.

So on my 2nd time here in Boracay, I definitely won't let this chance pass. On our second day, we were already haggling activity vendors for cheaper trips to Ariel's point but to our surprise, all they were saying was that somebody had been badly injured from the jump that the place has already been closed for a few weeks now. We were far beyond devastated, (this was one of the main reasons we went back), we were literally lost for words and not to mention plans, we've had enough of last night's dance-till-you-can't-feel-feet-anymore activity and we don't want our precious day to go to waste. Many of the "manong vendors" are offering us the alternative cliff diving site at Magic Island, it's also good but we've already been there on our first trip. Read all about it here.

Luckily, one of my friend was in high spirits and decided that we go directly to Ariel's House (main office) in Station 1 to personally ask if the rumors are true and try our luck in getting our asses on one of their boats to Ariel's point. I'm glad he dragged us out there because as soon as we arrived at the office I saw a signboard telling that registration ends at 10:30am. And that definitely sent my spirit soaring high. The crew told us that they never closed and will not be closing any time soon.  It's just sad that the "manong vendors" on the beach are trying to rip off the reputation of this paradise just for the cash.

So we paid for our tickets, Php2000/pax, (Take note: inclusive of a boat cruise [free drinks already starts on the boat], buffet lunch, open bar, free use of kayak and snorkeling gears and lastly, unlimited jumps to any of the boards) The hell right? Can't get any more better than that. At first glance, the price might look fancy, but if you consider all the freebies and of course the experience, I assure you, it's probably one of the best deals you'll get your hands on.

Free baller! also serves as your entrance pass to your boat

There are three (3) baller colors, green, white and orange. Those who paid early gets the green baller and gets to embark on the first boat and set to Ariel's Point first. By the way, assembly will start at 11:15am and boats will start leaving by 11:30am. Boat travel time is around 30 mins. and once you have arrived, you may start jumping your souls off, drink till you have all the guts to do so and lunch will be served an hour after.

So when all of the boats had arrived, people started jumping and drinks immediately began pouring, everything went down so fast and we just couldn't help but watch first the couple of brave hearts that flew on the jumping boards first.

The 15m beast, the view from here is what gave us all palpitations

We vowed not to drink first before jumping on any boards, but after the 5m and 8m drop we definitely had to have a couple of bottles before braving up that 50ft. drop from the 15m plank sitting just a few steps from our table.

Lunch was served and we can barely eat with all the 50ft. drop  thoughts swimming in our heads. So we just decided to down it with a few more bottles, remember, it's an open bar, you can have all the willpower-inducing drinks you want.

Enjoying the open-bar to our delight

After a few dozens of beer and packs and packs of cigarettes, we finally decided it's time. So after a few grueling hours of contemplating, each of us finally jumped. Here's the vid, enjoy watching:

We survived this sh*t!! XD

One of my friend was one of the last to jump the 15m plank, so when she finished it was almost time to go. But we still managed to swim a little and the whole group even managed one of the biggest groufie that day.

New found YOLO friends!

The boat ride back was relaxed and refreshing (still with free drinks!). Everyone was flushed from all the jumping and drinking, but to me, I'm flushed by the experience itself. It's very empowering having the courage to live and jump on your own. I definitely recommend this activity for those who have issues with heights and their own personal fears, this one will definitely beat the shit out of it once you finally decide to jump.

By the way, people aren't allowed to directly jump at 15m first without jumping at the lower planks first so that your body is already well-adjusted to the impact of the water. And personally speaking, I suggest you practice your perfect straight-to-the-ground jump first before doing the real 50ft. thing, because I didn't and this is what I got:

One of those few bruises I'm so proud to have

Well that was my fault. I landed on my back for the nth time. But will that bruise stop me from jumping again? Hell not in a lifetime brother haha. We only have one life, I'd rather die with all these bruises and happy memories than with a  plain black & white flashbacks. Cheers to all the adventure-junkies!
